Flu Info Center
Dear Patients and Friends,
There is much ado about the H1N1 (swine) flu.
The Big Picture.
Viruses go through phases where they can be deadly until the population acquires defenses and ways to deal with it. Measles, for example, 400 years ago was deadly to the Mexican natives. Now the immunity is up and it’s a mild inconvenient childhood sickness.
The Individual Picture.
Your best defense is Sanitation and your own immune system. Keep home and work areas clean. Especially around areas where food is prepared. Wash hands thoroughly after using restrooms and after shaking hands with lots of people. If someone appears sick or if you know someone is sick avoid shaking hands or being near them.
- Build your immune system.
- Exercise moderately (don't get exhausted)
- Sleep regularly
- Eat a variety of healthy foods - Cantaloupe has a large Vitamin C content. Lots of fresh fruit, leafy green vegetable especially raw and organic. Garlic, cilantro, coconut and grapefruit show signs of being antiviral and antibacterial. Yes, chicken noodle soup has been shown to be good for you when you’re feeling below par.
- Keep a good protein intake.
If eating good food is a challenge for you consider using Standard Process's Green Food, Cruciferous Complete, Immunaplex or Congaplex. They are made with whole organic foods. The last two are designed to boost your immune system
Make sure your spine is aligned. A fully functioning nervous system expressing 100 % innate intelligence is a must for good health.
Keep stress to its ideal level. The ideal level is to challenge yourself that is how we grow. Too much challenge and you feel overwhelmed too little and you feel bored. Overwhelmed leads to sickness to give you a break and Boredom leads to sickness to wake you up to life. Either way it gets you out of your rut.
Gratitude: make sure you are truly grateful. It is the best way to have a healthy body and mind.
Now, on to the Flu Vaccines...
It seems the vaccine itself is more newsworthy than the actual flu these days. To thoroughly research the vaccine, ask your vaccine provider for the insert that comes with the vaccine. Then, look up each ingredient and the potential side effects. Or, check out the information we have compiled here:
Information from Joseph Mercola, DO (also a helpful website for most natural health care news, please browse his articles)
Information from Sherry Tenpenny, DO (great resource center for all vaccines)
Information from Mayer Eisenstein, MD, JD, MPH (wonderful resource for all vaccines as well)
